What Happens Next?

You've just returned home from the post office after mailing your application to take the CMA (AAMA) Certification Examination. What happens next?

Well, on your end, nothing for a while.

The AAMA Certification staff will inform you of your application status within 75 days of the application postmark deadline. If you have not received any communications from the AAMA Certification staff by that time, please contact them by phone or e-mail to check on your enrollment status.

If you're eligible for the CMA (AAMA) exam
You will receive a Scheduling Permit with instructions for making an appointment at a Prometric test center approximately one month prior to the testing period start date you provide on your application. The Candidate Application and Handbook, which you reviewed prior to applying for the exam, includes the Examination Content Outline and suggestions to help you study and prepare for the exam.

If you're not eligible
If you are not eligible for the exam, you will not receive a refund, so it is important to review the CMA (AAMA) Certification Exam Eligibility requirements for the exam, which includes the grounds for denial of eligibility.
