The CMA (AAMA) has a new tagline!

As developed by the Certifying Board of the AAMA in collaboration with the Board of Trustees, key AAMA staff members, and marketing consultant Public Communications Inc., the new tagline establishes the CMA (AAMA) credential as the mark of excellence in medical assisting certification.

The CMA (AAMA) serves as a beacon of quality, assuring employers rigorous certification standards have been met:

  • College-level medical assisting education
    • Programmatically accredited
    • Standardized competencies
    • 160-plus hours in an outpatient externship/practicum setting
  • Physician-level exam standards
    • The only medical assisting exam that uses the National Board of Medical Examiners as the test consultant
    • Creating high standards in
      • Test development
      • Item writing
      • Exam security
  • Globally-recognized certifying body
    • The Certifying Board of the AAMA is the only medical assisting certification body that has been accredited under ISO 17024 International Standards
    • More and more organizations, regulators, consumers and other stakeholders rely on International Standards to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety
