Obtain a Maxine Williams Scholarship Application

If you are a student, you must see your program director for an application. Do not request an application directly from AAMA.

If you are a program director for a medical assisting program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), you may request an application for the Maxine Williams Scholarship from the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (AAMAE).

In order to be eligible for the scholarship, a student must be currently enrolled in, and have completed a minimum of one quarter or semester at a postsecondary medical assisting program accredited by (CAAHEP). Additionally, the student must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

To request an application form, send an e-mail to the AAMA. Make sure to include the following information in your request:

  • Your name
  • Your accreditation code
  • Your program's institution name, city and state

The deadline for receipt of applications is February 15.

Awards of $1,000 and a one-year membership in the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) are granted based on academic ability and financial need.

Named after Maxine Williams, a founder of the American Association of Medical
Assistants and its first president, the program was established in 1959.
