Beginning your next program? Consider these additional guidelines:

  • Submit screen shots. If your program uses the Internet, you also must submit screen shots of the online content, along with an access code for audit.

  • Get copyright permission. If your program uses copyrighted material, you must obtain permission to use the material from the owner of the content.

  • Include a test. If your program uses CDs, books, video, Internet, or other non-facilitator formats, then that program must include a test of at least 30 questions. The test and answer key must be submitted along with your education approval form. (The score required to pass the test must be at least 70 percent.)

  • Grade and submit results. Appoint a person to grade the test and submit attendance records for those who pass the test.

To take a course, visit MLN WBT and follow these steps:

  1. Under Related Links, click on Web-Based Training (WBT) Courses.
  2. Select a course by clicking the title (not the icon next to it).
  3. A new window will appear with options to login or register. Click Login.
  4. On the next screen, click on "register" in the first sentence.
  5. The next screen will prompt you to enter your e-mail address. Do so and click Submit.
  6. The screen will then read "No account was found matching your search criteria. Please click here to proceed with registration." Click on "here."
  7. Complete the registration. Afterward, you will be directed to your homepage.
  8. To proceed with a course, click on the Web-Based Training (WBT) Courses link.
  9. Select a course by clicking the title (not the icon next to it).
  10. Scroll to the bottom of the page. If applicable, use the radio buttons to select Certification of Completion or [Any other available credit].
  11. Click the Take Course button. The course will appear in a new window.


When submitting a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) completed Web-based training course as part of your recertification, please retain a copy of your CMS certificate and turn it in with your recertification application and paperwork.

The Continuing Education Board has reviewed all of the Medicare Learning Network's Web-based training courses and awarded AAMA CEUs for the following courses with a test score of 70 percent or higher:
