Scholarship Application

The following instructions explain how to apply for the Maxine Williams Scholarship.

Application Eligibility

Only CAAHEP Program Directors May Apply  |  If you are a program director for a medical assisting program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), you may request an application for the Maxine Williams Scholarship from the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment.

Students May Not Apply  |  If you are a student, you must see your program director for an application. Do not request an application from the AAMA.

Scholarship Eligibility

Only Current CAAHEP Students Are Eligible  |  In order to be eligible for the scholarship, a student must meet these requirements:

  • Be currently enrolled in and have completed a minimum of one quarter or semester at a college-level medical assisting program accredited by CAAHEP.
  • Have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application Requests

Download and complete the Maxine Williams Scholarship Application. Include the following information in your request:

  • Your name (you must be a CAAHEP program director)
  • Your accreditation code
  • Your program's institution name, city, and state

The deadline for receipt of applications is ​April 15.

Awards of $1,000 and a one-year membership in the AAMA are granted based on academic ability and financial need.
